A lesson at Cafe Pottery is typically 30 minutes for a party of one and 45 minutes for a party of two. During that time you will create 2 pieces. The lesson begins with a demonstration by Andrew showing you exactly what you will be doing. Then, it’s your turn! During the creation of your pieces Andrew is hands on and directs through all of the steps.
When you come in, be wearing something you don’t mind getting a little dirty, but don’t worry, clay and glazes wash right out. Ladies, I recommend not wearing dresses and trimming your fingernails before you come create on the pottery wheel. You’ll also want to have your long hair pulled up so it doesn’t get in the clay.
For Painting Your Pottery, you can book a 1 hour time slot to come in and paint what you made. It takes me 3 weeks to ‘bisque fire’ your piece, and another 3 weeks after your piece is painted (may be bisque or glaze fired sooner than 3 weeks depending on schedule).
